Pune: To address the problem of air pollution, the Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited (MNGL), which generates Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and provides Piped Natural Gas (PNG) for various users from buses to cars, will unveil 5,000 two-wheelers on Friday fitted with CNG kits to demonstrate that even bikes can run on CNG.
The CNG two-wheeler handing over ceremony will be conducted by Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who will hand over keys of the bikes at a function in Savitribai Phule Pune University Campus (SPPU) on Friday.
“We at MNGL have taken the initiative to make CNG kits for two-wheelers and this will be on offer to every interested person,” Santosh Sontakke, MNGL’s Director Commercial, told a press conference here on Wednesday. Also present were Rajesh Pande, MNGL’s Independent Director, Milind Narharshettiwar, Chief General Manager and Milind Dhakole, MNGL’s General Manager, Marketing, Manik Kadam and Mayuresh Ganu.
