Nissan unveils its new logo; Plans to launch eight new models in India
Nissan India on Thursday revealed the concept version of its highly anticipated B-SUV - Nissan Magnite, which will be launching soon in India. With the all-new logo, Nissan is also planning to introduce 12 new models over the next 18 months to the global market, out of which eight models will be released in the Indian market.

The new interior image released by Nissan India of the Nissan Magnite concept highlighted the dashboard and the cabin space.

"The Nissan Magnite concept is an evolutionary leap in Nissan's SUV history. Not only the exterior, but also the interiors exude premium-ness, sophistication and roominess. These core elements of design philosophy will be succeeded to the production model which is under development, coupled with superior technology on-board to be a game-changer in its segment," said Rakesh Srivastava, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India.

The launch event revolved mainly around the brand-new Nissan Ariya (EV), new logo and Nissan Next.

Nissan Ariya is an EV with an all-new platform and power terrain. Nissan also revealed what they call 'Nissan intelligent mobility'. Out of the 12 new models, the carmaker is planning to launch eight models in AMI (Africa, Middle East, India) region.

Magnite is a portmanteau of the words "magnetic" and "ignite". Whereas magnetic highlights the design and the product attributes that will attract customers, ignite emphasises on the beginning of a new era, that Nissan wants to bring in India.
"We closely studied Indian and Japanese cultures for a car whose design sensibilities bring together the best of both worlds. In the process, we found compelling inspirations that resonate with the modern urban consumer's personality and dynamism. The Nissan Magnite concept is the true spirit of India on wheel," said Kei Kyu, Future Design Director, Nissan Motor Corporation.

"The Nissan Magnite is an evolutionary leap in Nissan's global SUV DNA. With cutting-edge technology on board, it will be a game-changer in its segment. A bold offering in the sub-four-meter category, we are confident that Nissan Magnite will redefine the B-SUV segment for the industry. The Nissan Magnite is made on the philosophy of 'Make in India, Make for the World' and has been designed in Japan while keeping in mind the requirements and aspirations of Indian customers." said Rakesh Srivastava, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India.

Magnite is a B segment SUV which means it will be placed against the Maruti Brezza and the Ford Eco-Sport. Nissan has invested over Rs 6,000 crores in the Indian market because of its potential to manufacture good quality products at lower prices. Officials express discontent in the current performance of Nissan in the Indian market, but they believe that just a single model can change everything. The company has high expectations with the new Magnite that will be manufactured in India.

They see India as a major export hub and believe in the philosophy of 'Make in India, Make for the world'. Nissan is manufacturing cars in India which are already being exported to other countries.

"We are pleased to share the story of Nissan Magnite concept. It is a true reflection of Nissan-ness and a testimony to Nissan's SUV DNA spirit of relentless innovation and Japanese engineering. It is designed in Japan keeping in mind the requirements and aspirations of Indian and global customers with the philosophy of 'Make in India, Make for the world'," said Rakesh Srivastava, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd.

Magnite will offer a plethora of features, which will include cruise control and an 8-inch infotainment screen with many other first in class features. With the launch of Magnite, Nissan believes in 'transforming the way we drive and live in India'.
Following are the expected list of cars that Nissan might launch in India:
· Nissan Sunny 2020
· Nissan Terra
· Nissan Magnite
· Nissan Leaf
· Nissan Note e Power
· Nissan X-Trail

Lately, Nissan hasn't been performing well in the Indian market. But unlike Chevrolet, Nissan has seen the potential in India and is putting its best foot forward. The question here arises, will Nissan be able to make heads turn of people who prefer buying a Maruti Suzuki over a Skoda or a Volkswagen.
