Spartak has the best Hot Chocolate

The FIFA 2018 journey has come to the halfway mark, as the group stage of the tournament will come to an end today (Thursday).

A few things have become a habit these days, for instance I pick up something new along the way. Today, I noticed the clock on the pole from where I take the bus to go to the metro station.

Speaking of habit, Maria, the girl at Luzhniki Stadium, who looks after the media cafe, now knows that I drink Hot Chocolate whenever I make my first trip to the cafe during the day.

“And, Hot Chocolate right? Bon Appétit,” she says handing me the bill.

The other day, I ended up disappointing her though when I told her that Spartak Stadium serves better Hot Chocolate despite the fact all the media cafes have identical machines.

So, yesterday she asked me if I wanted extra chocolate in my drink, which I kindly refused and said, ‘It tastes good’, and there was a smile on her face.

It’s fascinating how we humans connect on different levels.

The game between France and Denmark was a drab draw and at one point, I was really sleepy and became disinterested in the game. The fans had every right to jeer the players in the final few minutes because they didn’t pay to watch a lacklustre draw.

The other game of the night between Argentina and Nigeria was a total contrast to the earlier game in the day and had everything that a fan would hope for. It had drama, emotion, a bit of controversy and even Diego Maradona getting carried away in the heat of the moment and doing gestures to the crowd. It wasn’t really pleasing to watch his gestures but one can understand his emotions.

The emotions will run high as the tournament will go along. The knockout stage will begin from this weekend. There’s no room for error now.
