Aurangabad, Maharashtra: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that industries should reuse waste water and use fresh water only if they fall short of water waste.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, he said,''Environment conservation is top priority of Maharashtra Government. We are making efforts to make the state green and clean. The move of reusing sewage water by the industries is a bid to conserve water. Our idea is to save fresh water and utilize it where it is required the most."
This can be done only by reusing sewage water for non-potable use. At present Navi Mumbai, municipal corporation supplies treated water to industries. The waste water is reused by the industries and the rest is then given for farming.
Hence, we are able to save large quantity of fresh water. The Municipal Corporation and Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) Administration also benefit as it save them lot of efforts for treating water. Fresh water will only be supplied if the industries fall short of waste water,'' he said.
Talking about full time new Municipal Commissioner, he said, ''The new Collector has taken charge. We have also appointed a new Municipal Commissioner who will be taking charge within eight days as he is presently undergoing training. Police Commissioner will also be joining within eight days.''
