Rains in January? IMD predicts rainfall in Maharashtra, Goa
Pune: The spell of cold is likely to end in Maharashtra and rain is likely to make presence in next two days in Maharashtra and keep the temperature relatively low, said officials from the weather department.
KS Hosalikar, Head, Regional Meteorological Centre, Mumbai, on his Twitter handle said, “On January 6 and 7 parts of Konkan, Goa, Central Maharashtra and some places may witness light to moderate rainfall.”
The weather department has also said that for next few days, the temperature will in Pune, Mumbai will hover around 14-18 degree Celsius. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) recently predicted that isolated pockets of many northern states will report cold wave to severe cold wave conditions within the next 24 hours, while parts of Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi may witness rainfall in next two days.
Meanwhile, parts of Mumbai along with Thane and adjoining areas witnessed light showers on Sunday. The light showers helped the mercury go down in the region. Pune also witnessed dark clouds looming for the maximum time on Monday.
