Pune: Fake placement agency offering foreign jobs busted; 72 fall prey for bait

Pune: A man was allegedly duped of Rs 1.66 lakh by two persons who lured him with a job offer abroad. According to primary report, the company who promised to offer jobs abroad has cheated 72 people in the city.

A case has been filed against a private company at Vimantal Police Station in Pune. An FIR has been lodged against Rakshit Patel, a resident of Baroda and Rubikumari Potdar from Viman Nagar.

WHAT IS THE EXACT CASE

According to the police, Amit Sarode, the complainant registered his name online on a website for finding a job. The fraudsters contacted the complainant over mobile phone and offered him a good job in Canada. Then the duo demanded amount of Rs 1.66 lakh from the complainant, purportedly to get passport, visa, ticket fare and other documents.

Sarode also received fake letter of appointment as well as the fraudsters also gave him a fake letter of government from Canada. When Sarode asked the duo about the joining, the fraudsters didn't gave him satisfactory answers. Sarode later realised that he has been duped and rushed to the police.

According to preliminary investigation, Sarode along with his friend and other 72 people have fallen prey for this 'job offer.'
