Two dead as bus catches fire in Kolhapur district

Pune: Two Pune residents died in a Mumbai-bound bus coming from Goa after it caught fire. The incident occurred mid-way on Friday morning at Gaganbavda Road in Kolhapur.

The deceased youths received 90 per cent burns and were identified as Bunty Bhatt and Vicky Bhatt, both residents of Vaiduvadi in Hadapsar.

Both the decedents were charred to death when the bus accidentally caught fire due to a technical fault in the AC.

The bus was owned by Aatmaram Travels, a Mumbai-based private bus operator.

Both the deceased were dhol artists and had gone to Goa to perform at a show. They were related to each other. Vicky Bhatt is survived by two daughters and wife, whereas Bunty Bhatt is survived by a pregnant wife.
