India skipper Virat Kohli has said that the entire scenario around Rohit Sharma's injury has been very confusing, impaired by a lot of uncertainty and lack of clarity.
Virat in a virtual press conference ahead of India’s first ODI battle against Australia in Sydney said, "Right now, there is so much uncertainty and whether they are going to make it and if they are going to make it at all or not."
"After the selection meeting, he played in the IPL and we all thought he would be on that flight to Australia and we had no information on why he is not travelling with us. There has been no information, there has been lack of clarity," Kohli said.
"We have been playing the waiting game," he added.
India’s opening batsman suffered a hamstring injury during the concluded season of the IPL.
Meanwhile, BCCI revealed that the Rohit Sharma will be next assessed on December 11. The board also said that Rohit's inclusion in the Border-Gavaskar trophy will be determined only after the fitness tests.
On the other side, Ishant Sharma is out of India's upcoming four-match Test series against Australia, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said.
The board said, “The BCCI said that Ishant has completely recovered from the side strain he sustained during the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL). "While he's building up his workload in order to achieve Test match fitness, Mr. Ishant Sharma has been ruled out of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.”
