It’s the halfway stage in the 13th season of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Wednesday will try and redress the conquest they suffered at the hands of Delhi Capitals (DC) on October 9.

The RR side led by Steve Smith are placed at the sixth place in the table and would hope for a refreshed show in order to keep their play-offs hopes alive. Today, they have a great chance of settling scores against the inform DC as they have their most important player, Ben Stokes, back in the side.

Stokes, who was assigned the role of opening batsman against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), would be hungry to deliver with the bat as well as with the bowl. It will be interesting to see if the Rajasthan management once again asks English all-rounder to open the innings or ask him to bat in the middle-order as his side lacks a sublime finisher or power-hitter there.

RR certainly has a solid middle-order with Sanju Samson, Steve Smith and two RRs (Riyan and Rahul) who are in stellar form. Talking about the bowling, if pacegun Jofra Archer is well-supported by Ben Stokes, things would be quite difficult for any team as the Englishmen are capable of troubling even the best batsmen in the world.

Coming to the Delhi Capitals, Shreyas Iyer has led the team sit on the second position of the points table. Yes, DC do have worries. After losing their prime bowlers Amit Mishra and Ishant Sharma for the rest of the tournament, DC will have to hit the field also without Rishabh Pant, who has been sidelined amid hamstring injury. The wicket-keeper’s absence was visible against Mumbai Indians (MI) as the side failed to post a total they deserved and ultimately were on the receiving end.

However, good news is their one of the experienced player Shikhar Dhawan is back in form. Prithvi Shaw and Iyer are also in decent form with hitters like Marcus Stoinis and Shimron Hetmyer can support the side in the middle-order (lower-middle order).

About the bowling, South African pacer Kagiso Rabada and his compatriot Anrich Nortje are too good while they have support of experienced spinnie Ravichandran Ashwin besides Axar Patel.

PROBABLE LINE UP

Delhi Capitals: Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer, Marcus Stoinis, Alex Carey, Harshal Patel, Axar Patel, Kagiso Rabada, R Ashwin, Anrich Nortje

Rajasthan Royals: Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes, Steven Smith, Sanju Samson, Robin Uthappa, Riyan Parag, Rahul Tewatia, Jofra Archer, Shreyas Gopal, Kartik Tyagi, Jaydev Unadkat
