Earthquake with magnitude 5.4 hits Nepal

An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 Richter scale rocked 50 kilometres east of Kathmandu in Nepal at wee hours on Wednesday, the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) stated.

The epicentre of the earthquake was 48 km east Nepal’s capital city Kathmandu. The earthquake struck at 5:04 am at a depth of 10 km from the surface. The shocks were felt in the most eastern part of the nation as well. Chief Seismologist of NSC Lok Bijay Adhikari confirmed told ANI, “It is a continued aftershock of 2015’s earthquake.” No damages have been reported from the centre of the earthquake.
