Jet2 Travel technologies sets up virtual captive centre in city

Pune: Jet2 Travel Technologies (Jet2TT) Private Limited,recently launched its global software development centre in the city for Jet2.com and Jet2 Holidays, UK's third largest airline and second largest tour operator respectively. The centre is set up by Dataction Analytics in Pune. 

The centre, covering 16,000 sq ft, is located at the upmarket Fountainhead building above Phoenix Market City.

Speaking about the new development centre, Steve Heapy, Chief Executive Officer at Jet2.com and Jet2Holidays said the centre is part of the long-term vision for the India centre. “The office is designed to create an ecosystem that drives technical innovation and creativity which is core to the success of Jet2TT. As Jet2 business continues to grow, IT Systems and Web Development teams across Leeds, Sheffield and Pune play a key role in supporting its expansion and ambitions,” added Steve.

The VCC will be hiring 300 resources which will include pool of developers, test engineers, business intelligence consultants and people from technical management roles. Saurabh Limaye, Managing Director at Jet2TT India and CEO of Dataction Analytics said, “VCC enables companies to reduce risks and gain access to top talent while reducing costs. We have a long-standing professional relationship with Jet2 and this VCC set-up in Pune will propel engagement forward as far as technology and innovation is concerned.”

He added that Jet2 UK team will be working closely with the business stakeholders to understand development needs, convert business requirements into technical requirements and create a high-level architecture. Pune team and UK team will jointly work on software development to fulfill these requirements. The Jet2 India leadership team will work to ensure the Pune team has right ecosystem in terms of facilities, infrastructure, support functions and on-site technical management to deliver the best in class solutions.

Kevin Judge, IT Development Head, Jet2 Travel Technologies said, “The IT talent pool in India is astounding. We will put together a strong technology team here to deliver the best user experience to our all-important customers whether that be via mobile app, mobile site or desktop.” 

Gary Isaacs,  Chief Information Officer, Jet2 said, “I believe we can put together a strong team here in India, which will complement our growing tech teams in Leeds and Sheffield. It would help us speed up delivery of our IT Roadmap, which will enrich the overall experience for our customers. This will help in expediting our goal of transforming the leisure travel industry.”
