Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has always been much more than just a film hero. A star too, doesn't seem to serve. He has been called the star of the century and 'Shehenshah of Bollywood'. Today, the star has turned 78 who has maintained his dominance over film industry and is one of the most loved and respected actors.

Amitabh Bachchan, who is celebrating his 78th birthday, is overwhelmed with all the lovely wishes that his family, friends and fans have been showering upon him. He took to Twitter to extends his gratitude for all the lovely birthday wishes. "your generosity and love be the greatest gift for me for the 11th .. I cannot possibly ask for more," wrote Amitabh Bachchan while sharing some pictures.

The actor had a really impressive list of movies in his pipeline for this year but it was delayed due to pandemic. But here's hoping that he can go back on set soon and bless us with more glorious content. As Bachchan’s tryst with improving his craft with each project continues, here we list some of his projects to look forward to:

Brahmstra

A superhero adventure, Amitabh Bachchan will feature in the Ayan Mukerji-directed film with Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy. The project is being billed as the first part in a trilogy.

Chehre

The mystery thriller is directed by Rumi Jafry and also features Emraan Hashmi, Rhea Chakraborty, Krystle D'Souza and Annu Kapoor.

Jhund

Directed by Sairat maker Nagraj Manjule, Jhund is reportedly based on the life of Vijay Barse, who is the founder of Slum Soccer. Big B plays the role of a professor who channelises street children to build a football team.

Uyarndha Manithan

Bachchan makes his debut in Tamil with Uyarndha Manithan, which also stars actor-director SJ Suryah. It is a bilingual film.

Untitled film with Prabhas and Deepika Padukone

Big B will star with Deepika Padukone and Telugu superstar Prabhas in a multilingual mega production for the big screen. The yet-untitled film is slated to release in 2022.

Aankhen 2

The film is a sequel to the 2002 heist thriller Aankhen. It will be directed by Anees Bazmee.
