Deepshikha and 3000 women set Ghoomar world record

Deepshikha Nagpal is not just a talented actor, but an elegant dancer as well. The actress who is currently shooting for &TV’s romantic drama Main Bhi Ardhangini in Jaipur paid a visit to an event in the Pink City that has been known for hosting talented women performing the Rajasthani dance, Ghoomar in large numbers.
 
This year, Deepshikha and these 3,003 women set a new world record for perform the Ghoomar! Donning the royal look of her Jaipuri character from the show, Nilambari, the actress not just extended a round of compliments for the glorious dancers but also decided to shake a leg with them. She also took to stage to speak about her experience of shooting in Jaipur for her new upcoming album.

Recalling the event as one of most awaited festivals she had wished to see, Deepshikha said, “I had often heard about this dance and the event through peers and close friends, but I was never able to take out the time to actually witness one. Since I’m shooting in Jaipur for Main Bhi Ardhangini, I got a chance to participate in this event and tick this moment off my bucket list. This place is known for setting a world record of 3000 women performing the authentic Jaipuri dance and I was quite thrilled to be a part of this occasion and achievement!”

Sharing her experience, Deepshikha added, “I was honestly amazed and proud to see how these women gracefully danced with perfect synchronisation. Looking at them, I truly feel women are capable of achieving anything. It was such a delight to not just watch these talented women perform Ghoomar, but also dance with them. This is surely a moment I am going to cherish the most.”
