Actor Dia Mirza and producer-director Sahil Sangha announced their separation after five years of marriage. The couple announced the news on their social media handles on Thursday.
“After 11 years of sharing our lives and being together, we have mutually decided to separate. We remain friends and will continue to be there for each other with love and respect. While our journeys may lead us down different paths, we are forever grateful for the bond that we share with each other,” the couple wrote.
“We thank our family and our friends for all their love and understanding and members of the media for their continued support and request everyone to respect our need for privacy at this time. We will not be commenting any further on the this matter. Thank You, Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha,” they further wrote.
Dia and Sahil looked as one of the happiest couples in the film industry. The news of their separation has come as a surprise not just for their fans but those from the industry. In fact, Dia has recently wished Sahil on his birthday with a sweet message.
Dia and Sahil tied the knot in 2014 after dating for several years. They also run a production house together and their first web series, which started streaming last month — Mind The Malhotras, got tremendous response.
