
Actor Kartik Aaryan has been delivering back-to-back hits at the box office. He hit the spotlight with the grand success of his Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. He is one of the most successful new stars in the city. Before this, he had already made a fan club with films like Pyaar Ka Punchnama and its sequel, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2.
The Love Aaj Kal actor will now play a lead role in another upcoming romantic-comedy film Dostana 2. The film is a standalone sequel to Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham, and Abhishek Bachchan's Dostana 2008 film. The film will also feature Jhanvi Kapoor and Laksh Lalwani in the lead roles.
In an interview with an online portal, the actor spoke about his upcoming film saying that Dostana 2 would undoubtedly push the envelope for him. The actor was reluctant to reveal anything about the film when asked whether his role was anything like the cast, he said that these details were not discussed and will reveal only when the time is right.
Later, in more detail on the promotion of his films, the actor opened up saying that he likes to extend his support to the producers and that he is putting his best foot forward in promoting his films left, right and centre.
In addition, when asked about fans who love his boyish charm and down-to-earth attitude, Kartik Aaryan said he did not want to let go of his authenticity.
Besides Dostana 2, Aaryan will also be seen in another sequel, Anees Bazmee's horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in front of Kiara Advani. The Akshay Kumar-starrer was one of the most successful movies of 2007.
Dostana (2008) was criticised for caricaturing a gay character. Speaking of it, Karan Johar said nothing like that is going to happen now.
In an interview with PTI, he said, "You will see that the representation is accurate, non-caricaturish and on point, talking about sexuality in a way that will not make you cringe while watching it. So therein lies the fact that in the last 12 years, there has been a solid change in the way we depict gay characters. Even in Kapoor & Sons and the way it was depicted."
