Founded by Meet Luthra and Rakesh Prasad, Sadcasm offers content ranging from gossips, humour, entertainment and so on. The founders loved to experiment in the social media space and their constant reinvention and experiments have given to Sadcasm. It just took six months for the platform to become a rage among netizens and meme lovers. Sadcasm’s Facebook page has around 15 million followers which has caught the attention of many marketing firms for online promotions. Their editorial team focuses on creating content that is relevant to the present time and is relatable to the youth. It works relentlessly to put out content that is loved and enjoyed by the audience.

Luthra says that the idea behind creating the page was to connect with his audience. “Given the surplus rush of similar kind of pages on the internet, we are fed with content that is not unique but are just for the hits and likes. We wanted to connect with the audience and bring out content that they could relate to,” adds Luthra. Sadcasm which means sad but sarcastic is aimed at making the audience happy even amidst darkest of times.

Apart from the normal social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest etc), Sadcasm also has a website (www.sadcasm.co) which has content focused on topics that are of the best interest to the audience. Rakesh says that apart from entertaining netizens, they wanted popularity and garner a social media following.

After the kind of response that the page has got, it is not surprising that their aim now is to increase the following to 25 million by 2020. It currently has followers from around 40 countries and they are striving to expand their following to the rest of the world.

“Sarcasm is at its peak now and that is what drives the content on this page. Sad but sarcasm is what we thrive on and that is exactly why this page is standing out from the crowd of other social media pages. We ensure that we bring out uniqueness in our content and also focus on the authenticity of the page,” concludes Prasad.
