Why Babil Khan took a break

In May 2025, a video of Babil appeared online showing him in tears as he spoke about Bollywood being “screwed” and “fake.” He also mentioned a few actors while criticising the industry, but later explained that his remarks had been misunderstood.

He later temporarily deactivated his Instagram account, after which his family and team released a clarification. That same month, Babil also withdrew from filmmaker Sai Rajesh’s project, explaining that he needed some time off. The director subsequently stated that he respected Babil’s choice to put his well-being first.

Babil made his return to social media in October, candidly discussing his mental health and disclosing that he had been struggling with depression. He wrote, “I didn’t intend to overhear, but this fragile, transparent life has thin walls. I wore my heart openly, and now my T-shirts are stained with blood. I needed time to recover. My inner demons left me with deep wounds. Sleepless nights and anxiety drove me to strange confessions. I was desperately asking for help, unable to hold back my feelings. The strain on my health was immense, and my soul was exhausted from constant suppression…”
