

Following the widespread attention garnered by Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar, a prevailing question emerged: who is 'Bade Sahab'? The release of Dhurandhar: The Revenge today (March 19) has provided audiences with the answer: it is Danish Iqbal. In a recent interview with Zoom, Danish disclosed that he himself was initially unaware that his character was 'Bade Sahab'.

Discussing his enthusiasm for his part in Dhurandhar 2, Danish remarked, "I must say, the topic of Bade Sahab was never on the table. In fact, until a few months back, I wasn't even aware that I would be portraying Bade Sahab. I was uncertain. Aditya was very secretive and kept a lot of information to himself."
He explained that he was aware he was portraying Dawood Ibrahim. "Indeed, I was playing Dawood; I was quite aware of it. However, Dawood is referred to as Bade Sahab, and even I wasn't entirely sure. Everyone was calling me Dawood bhai or Sahab. Regarding my character, no one mentioned anything to me. So, it was just me speaking in my scenes," he stated.
Regarding Danish Iqbal
Danish is a theatre actor who received his training at the National School of Drama and later continued his education in London. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Dilshad Mirza in Maharani Season 2. Danish has appeared in shows like Aranyak, Sankalp, and Aakhri Sach, as well as in films such as Haq and Bhakshak. He plays the character of Bade Sahab in Dhurandhar: The Revenge, a role inspired by Dawood Ibrahim. His scenes from the movie have become popular on social media, with audiences applauding his performance.
Regarding Dhurandhar: The Retaliation
Dhurandhar caused a sensation at the box office. Released in December 2025, the film garnered mixed reviews from critics, with some labeling it as 'propaganda'. Nevertheless, favorable audience feedback contributed to its success as a blockbuster. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the movie starred Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt, among others, in significant roles.
The initial installment depicted Ranveer's character, Hamza, as he infiltrated gangs in Lyari with the aim of dismantling a terror network impacting India, culminating in him killing Akshaye's character to ascend to power. The sequel delves into his backstory, illustrating how he comes to dominate Lyari while persisting in his mission and confronting even more perilous foes. The first movie grossed ₹1,300 crore globally, and the sequel has already surpassed the ₹100 crore mark on its first day.
