Bollywood stars Triptii Dimri and Shahid Kapoor are actively promoting their forthcoming movie, O Romeo. At a song launch event in Mumbai, Shahid was encircled by fans eager to take photos with him and obtain his autograph. Meanwhile, Triptii, who was also present on stage, seemed to be overlooked by the fans, resulting in what many online described as an 'awkward' situation. The video quickly appeared on Reddit, prompting numerous reactions from users.

Did fans overlook Triptii Dimri at the O Romeo song release?
At the event, Shahid and Triptii performed a dance to the song Paan Ki Dukaan. Subsequently, Shahid called some fans on stage to join them in dancing. However, the fans were more interested in taking photos with Shahid and largely ignored Triptii. As a result, she stepped aside, observing the excitement from the stage's edge while Shahid remained surrounded by his eager fans.
As the video gained widespread attention, some Reddit users remarked, “This explains why people rave about Triptii just for being around and question Shahid’s fame. Shahid is extremely popular at the grassroots level, whereas many people are not even aware of Triptii.” While some supported Triptii, one user noted, “That’s Shahid Kapoor, the heartthrob of the 2000s, the charming actor. Triptii is well-known, but Shahid is more so. It also seems he arrived later, after Triptii had finished taking photos with fans, so it’s unfair to judge her.” Another user added, “An actor with over 23 years of experience compared to Triptii’s five-plus years. She rose to fame post-pandemic in the era of intense social media, while Shahid established his fan base during Bollywood’s golden age in the 2000s. They are not on the same level.”
Shahid rose to fame instantly with his first movie, Ishq Vishk, in 2003. He continued to amass a large following with movies like Vivah, Jab We Met, Kismat Konnection, Kaminey, and Haider, among others. Conversely, Triptii earned attention with Laila Majnu and Bulbbul, but it was her short appearance in Animal that skyrocketed her popularity and made her an internet sensation.
Concerning O Romeo
Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the action-packed thriller is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala through Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The movie is inspired by Hussain Zaidi's book Mafia Queens of Mumbai and features Shahid Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Tamannaah Bhatia, Disha Patani, Farida Jalal, and Vikrant Massey in key roles.
Vishal Bhardwaj recently disclosed that Tamannaah Bhatia and Vikrant Massey participated in cameo roles in the film without receiving any payment. O Romeo is set to hit theaters on February 13.
