Actor Govinda has apologized after his wife, Sunita Ahuja, made remarks about their family priest, Pandit Mukesh Shukla, on a recent podcast. The actor clarified that he does not support these comments. He expressed that Pandit Mukesh and his family have consistently supported him and are highly respected in his life.
In the video message, Govinda expressed, "My wife spoke negatively about Pandit Mukesh Shukla on the podcast, and I denounce those comments. I sincerely apologize... Pandit Mukesh Shukla and his family have supported me during difficult periods, and I respect him a lot."
In a discussion with Paras Chhabra on his YouTube channel, Sunita previously mentioned, "We have one at our home too, Govinda's priest. He is similar – conducting prayers and charging Rs 2 lakhs. I advise him to pray independently, as the rituals performed by others won't benefit him."
God will acknowledge the prayers you offer independently. Personally, I don't subscribe to these beliefs. Whenever I donate or perform a good deed, I ensure it's done by my own hands for my karma. 'Darne wala darr jaata hai' (The one accustomed to fear will be afraid), she added.
Sunita also shared her thoughts on Govinda's present situation and career. She mentioned, "Chichi needs to shed some weight and improve his appearance. His skin condition has deteriorated. I hope he takes better care of himself. He recently mentioned that he is working on three films, but I believe the issue is that he lacks a competent team. The group he associates with includes writers who are more foolish than talented."
They portray him as a fool and offer poor advice. He doesn't surround himself with the right people. They dislike me because I speak the truth. They constantly speak negatively about me to him, and he trusts them all. I want to tell them that if they have something to say, they should say it to my face, not to him," she added.
Sunita also shared her desire to establish a home for the elderly and a shelter for animals. She mentioned that she intends to fund these projects herself and will not ask for assistance from Govinda, whom she accused of only providing financial support to his 'sycophants.'
The discussion also addressed rumors concerning Govinda's private life, particularly those suggesting an affair. Sunita remarked that she would not trust these rumors unless she witnessed evidence firsthand. Previously, the couple had refuted claims about their divorce, labeling such speculations as unfounded.
