Virat Kohli often grabs attention even for something as small as his Instagram handle ‘liking’ someone’s post. It has happened twice now—last year, he liked a photo of actor Avneet Kaur on Instagram and later attributed it to the ‘algorithm’. Recently, a similar ‘like’ appeared on a picture posted by German vlogger and musician LizLaz. The incident sparked a wave of memes and prompted a response from the cricketer’s former girlfriend.
Brazilian actor Izebelle Leite reacted to a post on an Instagram page that featured a collage of all the women Virat had ‘liked’, including his wife, actor Anushka Sharma. The post’s caption stated, “Nobody can deny that when it comes to Virat Kohli, his taste in women is absolutely elite.In response, Izabelle commented, clearly displeased about being dragged into it, saying, "It’s been 12 years and counting. Why can’t people move on?"
The period when Virat and Izabelle were dating
In 2012, Virat was seen with an unidentified woman on the streets of Singapore. She was later identified as Izabelle, a model and aspiring actor. That same year, she appeared in a minor role in the Aamir Khan and Rani Mukerji film Talaash.
The next year, she made her full-scale acting debut in the Hindi film Sixteen. In 2014, while promoting her subsequent film, Purani Jeans, she acknowledged her relationship with Virat in an interview, indicating that they had separated that same year: “Virat was one of my first Indian friends when I came to India. We dated for quite some time, for almost two years, but we didn’t want to make it public. So yes, Virat and I were in a relationship.”
Currently, Izabelle lives in Doha with her husband and their two children, while Virat is married to actor Anushka Sharma and also has two children.
