A few days after receiving temporary bail and leaving Tihar Jail on February 17 in connection with a ₹9 crore cheque bounce case, actor Rajpal Yadav is opting for contemplation rather than immediate response. The 54-year-old, who journeyed with his wife, Radha Yadav, to his hometown in Uttar Pradesh shortly after his release, mentions that the legal struggle is still ongoing.
Radha shares that they are handling the situation by taking it 'one step at a time'.
Rajpal reflects on his imprisonment, stating, "The hardest aspect was being separated from my family. Other than that, I adapted to the routine. I would rise early and concentrate on breathing exercises and keeping my mental equilibrium." Regarding the legal situation, he mentions, "This issue has persisted for many years. I felt it was appropriate to address it through legal means."
Radha states, "We examined every feasible legal and respectful option. Sometimes, resolving an issue isn't solely about willingness; timing also plays a crucial role."
Discussing his current focus on joyful moments following his interim bail, Rajpal Yadav mentions, "Upon my release, I immediately attended my niece's wedding in Shahjahanpur and felt thankful to be with my family. Being surrounded by loved ones at that time was incredibly meaningful after a challenging period."
While the couple did not disclose the names of the industry peers who assisted in paying off the loan, he conveyed his appreciation by stating, "I am thankful for the affection and support I have received. What resonated with me the most during this period was the trust from people: audiences, colleagues, and supporters. For someone like me, respect, time, and being listened to are more important than anything else."
Radha Yadav, the actor's spouse, expresses, "We are grateful for the support we receive. Numerous individuals have shown concern and offered encouragement. We appreciate every act of kindness, whether it is public or private."
Discussing his upcoming plans, the actor states, “I will keep respecting the court and follow all instructions. I have consistently held this position from the start and will let the legal proceedings unfold.” Although Rajpal acknowledges that the case has disrupted his filming schedules, he expresses confidence in returning to the sets in due time. “Work schedules might change temporarily, but I will gradually and responsibly return to work. Acting has been my passion for many years, and I am dedicated to it.”
