Ranveer Singh is enjoying the acclaim for his performance in Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The spy thriller, directed by Aditya Dhar, features Ranveer in the lead, portraying Hamza Ali Mazari and Jaskirat Singh Rangi. The sequel explores his character’s past in greater depth, revealing how he became an Indian spy operating in Pakistan. Many actors and audience members have lauded Ranveer’s work as the finest of his career. Shefali Shah, who played his mother in Dil Dhadakne Do, wrote an extensive note celebrating his talent, energy, and range as a performer.
Shefali’s remarks about Ranveer
Sharing a clip from an awards ceremony, where Ranveer was seen lifting her on stage after she received an award, Shefali wrote, “The first time I met @ranveersingh was exactly like this. I was at the dance rehearsal for Galla Gudiyan in a studio in Mumbai; all the actors were walking in while I stood on the side, trying to be invisible, offering awkward smiles and greetings. Suddenly, from behind, a pair of arms lifted me off the ground. I was about to snap when I heard an extremely excited voice exclaim, ‘Shefu, let’s make a kickass film.’... It was Ranveer. That was our very first interaction. And just like that, we became a team. That’s who Ranveer is, and that’s why I adore him so much. He has no filters. His capacity to feel emotions and express them with complete honesty is almost childlike.”
She went on to say, “His energy, enthusiasm, and warmth are truly contagious. His dedication to people, and to everything he takes on, is unwavering. Ran (that’s my affectionate nickname for him) makes you feel valued, and that’s incredibly touching. He is a complete team player. He understands the significance of every character, and he knows when to step back and simply support someone else, which requires tremendous confidence and a deep awareness that filmmaking is a collaborative process, not a showcase of individual accolades.”
Shefali described Ranveer as one of the finest actors and shared, “Once, after DDD was released, he quietly went to a theatre to watch it and later messaged me yet again to praise my performance. His compliments—and really, nothing about him—are restrained. He isn’t merely polite, politically correct, formal, or putting on an act. He is completely authentic, someone who feels deeply and expresses it openly, both as a person and as an actor. I’m an ardent admirer of Ranveer the actor. If he appears in a film or even in an advertisement, I’ll watch it just for him. He truly is one of the best actors we have, and consistently so. His performances are incredibly layered, yet he makes them look simple and effortless.”
She commended his talent and said, “That’s the real beauty. Not once do you notice Ranveer Singh the actor or his flawless technique. What you witness is his honesty, vulnerability, and raw intensity. All you see is the character—be it Bajirao, Kapil Dev, Khilji, Jaskirat, or Hamza. Ranveer is all heart and unbridled madness, and that is precisely where his magic resides.”
