Due to which the whole day is spoilt causing a work stress. As a result, it has a negative effect on the quality of work. In such times, a study has revealed that two simple things can help reduce fatigue. Let’s find out what these two things are.
What does the study say?
Researchers from Wake Forest University, Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and Northeastern University in the US have found that microbreaks – that are short breaks of just a few minutes can help reduce fatigue. They also find that when your seniors interact with you and share mindful information, mental stress is reduced.
Lindsay Andola, a researcher at VCU has said, ‘’When work is stressful, having both short breaks and a support from the seniors effectively helps. Combining both these solutions, helps in reducing fatigue and get better work done.
Conclusions from the study
The study observed 44 accountants. Further, the impacts of short breaks were observed on 179 people.
The study revealed that when people took short breaks during work hours and were supported by their seniors, they were less tired, had better sleep, and felt more enthusiastic for work the next day.
Researchers say that accountants are always under pressure to handle deadlines and work for longer hours, due to which fatigue and mental stress is caused.
There are two simple solutions for this problem –
Take small breaks:
For an example, read a news article, drink coffee, or take a short walk. By such short breaks, the mind stays fresh.
Get support from seniors
The seniors should have a regular check up on their employees, help them with their work, and interreact.
These two solutions can be easily used in any office and gain enthusiasm and maintain a balanced work life.
