Recently, during a candid chat with friend Farah Khan on her YouTube show, Ram Kapoor shared an intimate chapter: they lived together for 1.5–2 years before their 2003 marriage. And he says, back then, “nobody thought we’d stay married”—but today they celebrate over two decades together.

As Farah and her chef visited the Kapoor home, she casually asked about their relationship. Ram smiled and admitted that he and Gautami had been living together casually before tying the knot—an arrangement that surprised many at the time. Farah hugged Gautami and quipped, “Congrats—and you still married him!” hinting at how unconventional their journey was.

Back in the early 2000s, live-in relationships among Indian celebrities were almost taboo, and many expected their bond to be fragile. Ram recalls, “My friends, my family…asked ‘Why are you marrying him?’ No one thought our marriage would last.”

He adds with a grin, “Now I’m winning… proving everybody wrong,” as they mark over 25 years together .

Their journey—from living together before society’s acceptance to thriving in a two-decade marriage—is a testament to intent over convention.

Ram Kapoor’s revelation isn't about stirring controversy—it’s about celebrating how honest commitment, emotional safety, and willingness to grow together can outlast societal doubts. Their story affirms that real love isn’t about ticking tradition—it’s about building trust, day by day, year after year.
