Pune: In a disruptive incident at Casino Restaurant and Bar at Mantri Market in Hadapsar, two individuals were arrested for causing damage and attempting to assault bar staff.
The incident took place on Wednesday (September 4) evening around 7 PM, when four patrons caused a commotion while drinking, leading to a confrontation that resulted in property damage and minor injuries.
The Hadapsar Police have detained Kunal Kailas Khose (18) and Krishna Ganpat Chavan (25), both residents of Hadapsar, and have registered a case against their two other companions. The altercation began when Krishnakumar Sonke, the bar manager, asked the group to calm down as their unruly behavior was disturbing other customers.
Despite initial warnings, the situation escalated when one of the individuals verbally abused the manager. Krishna Chavan intervened but the tensions rose further when Pratik Kamble, the son of the bar owner, entered the scene.
Kamble questioned the group’s behavior and asked them to leave the premises. Chavan and his friends retaliated, questioning Kamble's authority, and the situation quickly spiraled into an attempted assault.
The group tried to attack the manager using bottles from the tables, but were restrained and escorted out by the bar staff. In the process, one of the assailants threw a crate of Sprite bottles onto the street, smashing them.
Another member of the group began throwing bottles at the establishment, but lost his balance, fell, and sustained injuries from the broken glass.
The bar manager promptly called the police, leading to the arrest of Khose and Chavan. Investigations are ongoing, led by Constable Sonali Karande, as authorities seek to identify and apprehend the remaining suspects involved in the incident.
