Singer and filmmaker Palash Muchhal has been involved in a legal dispute with actor-producer Vidnyan Mane, who accused him of financial deception. Mane also commented on Muchhal's called-off wedding with cricketer Smriti Mandhana, prompting the singer to file a defamation lawsuit against him. Recently, Palash has been granted temporary relief in the case by the Bombay High Court.
In a recent update on the case, the Bombay High Court has ruled against Vidnyan Mane in the defamation lawsuit, as confirmed by Palash's attorney, Shreyansh R Mithare. Additionally, the court has prohibited Vidnyan from making any remarks about Palash, as they could damage his reputation. Palash's lawyer views this as a favorable development in their case and notes that the next hearing is set for March 11.
Vidnyan Mane claimed that Palash defrauded him of ₹40 lakh and also accused him of being disloyal to Smriti. According to the news agency PTI, Mane filed a complaint with the police in Maharashtra's Sangli district, alleging that Palash had deceived him. The complaint states that the two met in December 2023, during which Vidnyan expressed interest in co-producing Palash's film Nazaria. By March 2025, Vidnyan had reportedly given Palash ₹40 lakh for the film, but when the project remained incomplete and he requested a refund, he received no reply.
Vidnyan further alleged that Palash was unfaithful to Smriti Mandhana during their wedding celebrations, claiming that Indian women cricketers assaulted him for this reason. Following these allegations, Palash announced on Instagram that he was pursuing legal action against Vidnyan. He initiated a ₹10 crore defamation lawsuit and issued a legal notice, accusing Vidnyan of making false, outrageous, and highly defamatory statements with the deliberate intention of damaging his reputation and character.
