Pune, 3rd December 2024: The Bombay High Court has overturned the decision of Pune Police to revoke the firearm license of Manorama Khedkar, mother of dismissed IAS officer Puja Khedkar.

The controversy dates back to a viral video showing Manorama threatening an individual with a pistol during a land dispute.

The high-profile case began six months ago with the dismissal of Puja Khedkar from civil services, leading to further allegations against the Khedkar family.

Among these, the video of Manorama threatening someone over a land dispute in Mulshi taluka went viral. Following the incident, Pune Police canceled her firearm license, citing misuse.

Manorama’s counsel argued in court that due legal procedures were not adhered to during the cancellation process. The bench, comprising Justice Revati Mohite-Dere and Justice Prithviraj Chavan, found procedural lapses and declared the cancellation decision invalid.
