CCTV footage from a neighbouring society shows the suspects entering a flat in the Thames building at around 1:50 am and leaving after nearly 80 minutes. Two of them then moved to the Mississippi building, breaking into another flat and leaving 26 minutes later. From Flat Mississippi 1203, they allegedly stole ₹15,000 in cash. No other valuables were reported missing.

Investigators believe the intruders entered through an unsecured area behind the Mississippi building near a cricket ground. Police sources said they seemed familiar with the society’s CCTV blind spots and the positions of security guards.

A resident reported noticing unusual movement during the incident but did not alert security. Authorities suspect the same group may have targeted unoccupied flats in the area over the past month.

The twin societies, housing over 600 families, lack a public access road, relying instead on an internal road through a neighbouring society. Residents say this, combined with poor street lighting and limited CCTV coverage, is making the hilltop community vulnerable to such break-ins.
