CET Law Entrance Exam Now for 120 Marks; Registration Extended Till Feb 13

The three-year LLB course continues to witness the highest number of applicants. This year, more than 70,000 students have registered for the entrance exam.

Pune: The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has introduced changes in the question paper format for the law entrance exams conducted for three-year and five-year LLB courses. Under the revised structure, the total marks have been reduced from 150 to 120.

Registration Deadline Extended for Three-Year Law Program

The three-year LLB course continues to witness the highest number of applicants. This year, more than 70,000 students have registered for the entrance exam. The initial deadline for registration was January 28, but in response to requests from students and parents, the CET Cell has extended the last date to February 13.

  • For the five-year LLB program, over 15,000 students have applied so far.

  • Online Exam in English & Marathi; MCQ-Based Format

  • The law entrance exam will be conducted in online mode and will be available in both English and Marathi. It will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark.

For the three-year LLB course, the exam will include the following four sections:

  • Legal Aptitude & Legal Reasoning

  • General Knowledge & Current Affairs

  • Logical & Analytical Reasoning

  • English Language

  • For the five-year LLB course, an additional section on Basic Mathematics will be included, making it a total of five sections.

Alignment with National Law University Exams; No Change in Duration

The CET Cell has implemented these changes to align the exam structure with the entrance exams of National Law Universities (NLUs). However, there is no change in the exam duration, and students will be given 120 minutes to complete the test.
