CID Officer Dies in Road Accident at Pimple Saudagar

Pune: A police officer serving with the Crime Investigation Department (CID) in Pune tragically died in a road accident at Pimple Saudagar. The incident occurred on Sunday (July 7) at around 9:45 PM.

The deceased officer, identified as Sachin Vishnu Mane (43), resided at Aditya Apartment, Spine Road, Moshi.

According to reports, Sachin Mane had gone to drop off his father at his sister’s house on Sunday (July 7) night. After leaving his father, he was returning to his home in Moshi on his motorcycle (MH 12/UB 4069).

While traveling from Kokane Chowk to Nashik Phata, an unknown vehicle struck his motorcycle near PK Chowk in Pimple Saudagar. The collision caused severe injuries to his face and head.

Passersby immediately called an ambulance and rushed Sachin Mane to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival due to the extent of his injuries.

Sachin Mane had joined the police force in 2003 and was initially assigned to the Motor Transport (MT) Department of the Pune City Police. At the time of his death, he was working with the CID Pune under the MT Department. He is survived by his parents, wife, one son, and one daughter. His last rites will be performed in his hometown of Jejuri.

Recently in an accident reported at Moshi, a woman had sustained severe injuries after being struck by the speeding car while crossing the road. The victim has been identified as Rekha Jivaram Chaudhary (40), from Borhade Wadi, Moshi.

24-hours after the CCTV footage of hit-and-run case went viral on social media, Bhosari police swung into action and registered FIR against the car driver, who was also son of a policemen posted at the same police station.
