Pune: In a disturbing case of domestic violence, a mother allegedly murdered her two young children and attempted to kill her husband in the Swami Chincholi area of Daund Taluka. The incident took place at 5 AM on Saturday (February 8), sending shockwaves through the local community.

The accused, Komal Duryodhan Minde (32), is said to have strangled and smothered her two children—Piyu (2.3 years old) and Shambhu (1.3 years old)—before attacking her husband, Duryodhan Abasaheb Minde (35), with a sharp weapon while he was asleep. The attack left him with serious injuries to the head and neck, and he was rushed to a private hospital in Baramati, where he is receiving treatment.

The shocking nature of the crime has deeply affected the Swami Chincholi community, as two innocent lives were lost in a brutal act committed by their own mother.

Duryodhan Minde is a software engineer working for a private company in Kharadi and had been working from home at the time of the incident. Given that both the husband and wife are well-educated, many in the community have raised questions about the reasons leading to such a tragic outcome.

The Daund Police have launched a detailed investigation into the case, with Assistant Police Inspector Nagnath Patil, Police Sub-Inspector Dattatray Kumbhar, and Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Gorakh Malgunde leading the probe.
