Pune: The 98th All India Marathi Literary Conference, to be held in Delhi, has garnered interest not only from within India but also from international literary enthusiasts.
Individuals from Pakistan, England, and the United States have expressed their desire to attend the event, scheduled for February 21-23, 2025, at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Sahitya Nagari (Talkatora Stadium), Delhi.
Dr. Satish Desai, the international coordinator for the conference, revealed that alongside local participants from Maharashtra, literary enthusiasts from abroad have been keen to join the event. Queries about participation have been received from various countries, indicating the global appeal of the conference.
The conference, organized by Sarhad, Pune, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Among those expressing interest in attending are Vishal Rajput from the Maharashtra Mandal in Karachi, Pakistan, and Sujata Gothaskar and Uttam Shiralkar from London.
Given the interest from Pakistan-based participants, senior leader and conference reception chairperson Sharad Pawar has emphasized the need for thorough verification through the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs before finalizing their participation.
Dr. Desai further stated that while the enthusiasm from international participants is noteworthy, the final decision on their attendance will be made collaboratively by the All India Literary Board and the organizing committee.
The conference has become a significant cultural and literary event, bringing together Marathi literature enthusiasts from across the world.
