Pune: The Dr. D.Y. Patil College of Ayurveda & Research Center, under the aegis of Dr. D.Y. Patil (Deemed) University, Pune, is all set to host the 8th International Ayurveda Congress in collaboration with esteemed organizations such as the All India Ayurveda Congress, International Maharishi Ayurveda Foundation, Netherlands, and International Academy of Ayurveda. This prestigious two-day event will be held on February 1 and 2, 2025, at the university’s Pimpri auditorium.

The conference will bring together global Ayurveda experts, researchers, educators, and students to deliberate on various subjects, including innovations, challenges, and future opportunities in the field.

New Collaboration in Diabetes Research Integrates Ayurveda and Modern Medicine

The event will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, and over 500 research paper presentations from national and international participants.

Key Highlights

On the inaugural day, a special convocation ceremony will recognize three distinguished personalities for their significant contributions to the field:

  • Dr. Tony Nader, head of the Global Transcendental Meditation Organization (USA).

  • IPS Mahesh Bhagwat, Additional Director General of Police, Telangana.

  • Prof. Dr. Sadanand Sardeshmukh, President of the Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Trust, Wagholi.

  • These individuals will be conferred with honorary 'Doctor of Science' degrees by the university's Chancellor, Dr. P.D. Patil.

Second-Day Highlights

The second day of the conference will include a keynote address by Union AYUSH Minister Prataprao Jadhav. Several other dignitaries, including Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha (AYUSH Ministry Secretary), NCISM Chairman Vaidya Jayant Devpujari, and Dr. Bhushan Patwardhan, will grace the occasion. The conference is expected to host over 1,200 national attendees and more than 100 international experts from 10 countries.

Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr. Smita Jadhav remarked that the conference aligns with the AYUSH Ministry’s mission to promote integrative health initiatives and foster research, innovation, and startups in Ayurveda. She emphasized that the event would provide a platform for students and professionals to engage in meaningful discussions and collaborations.

The conference has received official recognition from the Ministry of AYUSH and the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), further cementing its importance in the global Ayurveda landscape.
