Pune: Sakshi Kute, a third-year B.Tech student from the Electronics and Telecommunication Department at G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering and Management, Pune, secured the runner-up position in the Women's Endurance Special Event at the prestigious national-level Electric Bike E-Baja competition. The event was organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers India (SAE India) at BVRIT Hyderabad College of Engineering.

Additionally, Raisoni College’s team Abhyuday earned the 33rd rank among competitors from across the country, further solidifying the institution’s standing in the field of electric vehicle engineering.

A Platform for Innovation in Automotive Engineering

The E-Baja competition is designed to challenge engineering students to develop electric all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) that meet industry standards. Sakshi Kute competed against top engineering institutions across India, demonstrating exceptional technical knowledge and driving prowess.

SAE India structured the competition in multiple stages, including:

  • Design Validation: Assessing the structural integrity and innovation of the vehicle design.

  • Dynamic Testing: Evaluating performance metrics such as acceleration, maneuverability, and suspension capabilities.

  • Endurance Rounds: Measuring the vehicle’s ability to sustain performance under real-world conditions.

Team Abhyuday, led by captain Vedant Deshmukh, was guided by faculty mentors Dr. Swapnil Mahajan and Dr. Asha Shendge, whose expertise played a crucial role in the team's performance.

Dr. R.D. Kharadkar, Campus Director of Raisoni College, Pune, expressed pride in the students' achievements, stating: "This accomplishment in the E-Baja 2025 competition highlights our students' commitment to innovation and excellence in automotive engineering. Their success will not only inspire future engineers but also elevate Raisoni College’s reputation in electric vehicle design and national competitions."
