
Pune: A case of significant fraud involving unauthorized sales of goods has been reported in Talawade. An employee is accused of defrauding his employer of ₹15,77,755 by misappropriating payments and conducting unauthorized transactions.
The incident reportedly took place between May 10, 2024, and June 30, 2024. Sachinkumar Mohanlal Agarwal, a resident of Talawade Road, lodged a complaint at Chikhali Police Station on Monday.
Following this, the police registered a case against the accused, identified as Chetan Tukaram Devre, who resides at Vedhvihar Heights in Shivane and hails from Dhule district.
According to the complaint, Agarwal is employed at a cement dealership office in Talawade. The accused, Chetan Devre, collected cement worth ₹14,99,755 from the shop, claiming it was for delivery to Ramesh Marne, the proprietor of Mauli Stone Depot.
However, Devre delivered only ₹7,50,000 worth of cement and accepted payments under his own name in cash and checks, failing to transfer the amount to the company.
The remaining cement, valued at ₹7,49,755, was sold to unknown third parties without authorization, and the proceeds were not handed over to the company. Additionally, Devre launched a firm named "Sanvi Traders," using it to procure cement worth ₹78,000, which also remains unpaid.
The total loss incurred by the complainant's company due to these actions amounts to ₹15,77,755. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the law, and further investigations are underway.
