Pune, 20 June 2025: A shocking case has come to light in the city where 35 investors were defrauded of a total of ₹8 crore 54 lakh. The fraudsters lured people with the promise of huge returns on online investments. The Market Yard police have registered a case in this regard.
In this case, Ankur Dhak, a resident of the Market Yard area, has lodged a complaint. Based on his complaint, a case has been registered against the Managing Directors of Falcon Group and Capital Protection Force Company, Amardeep Kumar, Anita Kumari, and Sandeep Kumar, along with other office bearers.
Senior Police Inspector Manisha Patil informed that the accused convinced people to invest in an online scheme called ‘Invoice Discounting’. They claimed that the money would be used as working capital for reputed blue chip companies and assured high returns to the investors.
Trusting their assurances, 35 investors, including the complainant, invested large sums. However, the returns did not come as promised, and repeated attempts to get clear information from the company failed. This raised suspicion, after which the investors approached the police.
Senior Inspector Manisha Patil is leading the further investigation in the case. Meanwhile, the police have appealed to citizens to be cautious while investing money online and to verify the credibility of investment firms to avoid falling prey to such frauds.
