Pune: Gauri Mohan Shinde from Bazarwadi (Bhor taluka) has achieved remarkable success by clearing the Chartered Accountant (CA) exam on her very first attempt. Her inspiring journey of overcoming financial struggles with determination and relentless hard work has garnered widespread appreciation and congratulations from all quarters.
Gauri was known for her academic excellence from a young age. She completed her schooling up to Class 10 at Shivaji Vidyalaya in Bhor and later pursued her commerce degree at S.K. Somaiya College in Mumbai. After graduation, she set her sights on the prestigious CA qualification and began preparing for the Entry-level CPT (Common Proficiency Test), which she cleared on her first attempt.
Her journey, however, was far from easy. Gauri’s father, Mohan Shinde, a farmer, struggled to sustain the family through rain-dependent agriculture. Seeking a better livelihood, he moved to Mumbai, where he began driving a rickshaw. Her mother, Sunita Shinde, supplemented the family income by running a small home-based catering business. Despite these challenges, the family prioritized their children’s education.
Gauri’s dedication to her studies was unwavering. She balanced household responsibilities, assisting her mother with cooking, while dedicating 12 to 16 hours daily to her studies. Her perseverance paid off as she passed one of the country’s most challenging examinations, bringing pride and joy to her family.
“My goal was clear—I wanted to pass the CA exam by putting in my best effort. Self-study and consistent encouragement from my family kept me motivated throughout the journey,” Gauri shared.
Expressing his happiness, Gauri’s father, Mohan Shinde, said, “Our dream was to see our children well-educated and in respectable jobs. Gauri has fulfilled that dream by becoming a CA. Despite our financial struggles, my wife’s efforts through her catering business played a crucial role in supporting their education.”
