
Pune: A 22-year-old youth from Ahilyanagar, Parner taluka, has been booked by Faraskhana Police for allegedly submitting a fake 10th-grade mark sheet to secure a job in the postal department.
The incident came to light during the recruitment process for the post of Gramin Dak Sevak under the Maharashtra Circle 2023 (Cycle 5) online examination.
According to the complaint filed by Sachin Kamthe (38), an officer at the City Post Office and a resident of Sagar Park, Vadgaon Sheri, the accused had submitted a forged certificate claiming he had passed the 10th grade.
Kamthe, while verifying the submitted documents, discovered the certificate to be fraudulent. Following this, he reported the matter to the police. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code against the accused.
Police Sub-Inspector Santosh Gore is currently investigating the case to ascertain the extent of the forgery and whether any additional accomplices are involved.
In November 2024, an unemployed youth was arrested for trespassing into the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) Training Center in Nanveej, Daund Taluka, after falsely claiming to be a police officer to his family.
The accused, identified as Jai Rajendra Yadav (25) from Virshi, Bhatkuli taluka in Amravati district, had fabricated a story of being recruited into the police force to impress his wife and family during his wedding.
