Pune, 16 September 2025: Pune travellers on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway should note a planned traffic disruption today. On Tuesday, from 2 PM to 3 PM, the expressway near Bhatane will be closed in both directions for maintenance work.

The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) will be carrying out scheduled work on 22 kV power lines and feeders along the Bhatane-Ajivali section. As a result, traffic in both Pune-bound and Mumbai-bound lanes between km 9.6 and km 9.7 will be completely halted.

Praveen Salunke, Additional Director General of Police (Traffic), said the closure has been implemented under Sections 115 and 116 of the Motor Vehicles Act. He requested drivers to follow the alternative routes suggested by authorities to avoid delays.

The police have confirmed that arrangements are in place to manage the flow of vehicles, and normal traffic will resume immediately once the work is completed. Authorities emphasized that the block is temporary and necessary for safe completion of the electrical maintenance work.
