
Pune: Veteran Chartered Accountant Chandrashekhar Chitale has been re-elected to the Central Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for an unprecedented third consecutive term. This victory underscores his long-standing contributions to the profession and the trust placed in him by members.
In addition, three new Regional Council Members (RCMs) from Pune—CA Rekha Dhamankar, CA Abhishek Dhamane, and CA Rajesh Agrawal—secured their positions for the first time. These elections were part of the process to constitute ICAI’s 26th Central Council and 25th Regional Council, which will oversee operations for the 2025-2029 term.
Pune ICAI Chairperson CA Amruta Kulkarni expressed pride and joy in the results, stating, “This year is special for Pune as we have one CCM and three RCMs elected from our branch, further strengthening the representation of our city in the Western Region.” The Western Region comprises ICAI branches from Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Goa.
In a statement of gratitude, CA Chandrashekhar Chitale said, “Being elected for the third term is a tremendous honor. This reflects the collective efforts made to uplift the profession and its members while embracing new technologies and evolving dynamics. The newly elected RCMs—CA Rekha Dhamankar, CA Abhishek Dhamane, and CA Rajesh Agrawal—also thanked members for their trust and pledged to work for the betterment of Chartered Accountants and the profession as a whole.
