
Pune: After experiencing a cold wave with temperatures dipping as low as 9°C earlier this year, Pune is now witnessing a rise in the mercury levels. On Saturday, the city recorded a minimum temperature of 14.3°C and a maximum of 29°C. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), this trend is expected to continue, with a significant rise in minimum temperatures over the next three to four days.
Morning Chill and Changing Weather Patterns
The city’s weather on Saturday (January 11) showcased a mix of conditions. Pune residents experienced chilly mornings, followed by warm sunshine in the afternoon. By 4 PM, the skies turned partly cloudy, providing a blend of warm and cool weather throughout the day.
Over the past week, the minimum temperatures in Pune ranged from 9°C to 13°C, resulting in intense cold spells. However, meteorologists have predicted a 5°C to 6°C increase in minimum temperatures, which will bring relief from the biting cold.
Weather Forecast for the Coming Days
The minimum temperature in Pune and surrounding areas is expected to rise to 16°C on Sunday (Jan 12). Light fog may appear in the early morning hours, while the sky will remain mostly clear with some clouds in the afternoon and evening. By Tuesday (Jan 14), the minimum temperature could further climb to 18°C.
Statewide Weather Conditions
Across other regions, including Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada, no major changes in minimum temperatures are anticipated over the next four to five days. The weather is likely to remain dry across the state. In Vidarbha, a slight increase of 2°C to 3°C in minimum temperatures is expected.
