In a yet another incident linked to the Indian Railways has ignited debate on social media, a video of a group conducting Hindu rituals aboard a moving train has gone viral.
The incident comes just a week after a video of a railway coach decorated as a bridal suite for a couple aboard the Nandigram Express attracted widespread attention online.
The latest video, shared by an X user, shows several individuals along with Hindu priests chanting shlokas and performing religious rituals inside a railway saloon coach. The footage quickly went viral, prompting mixed reactions from social media users.
While sharing the video, the X user questioned fellow users about what they described as "hypocrisy," inviting people to express their views on the incident.
Unlike the previous occasion, Indian Railways responded promptly to the incident.
Northern Railways stated in a tweet that the saloon car had been booked by IRCTC on 08.07.26. The party made an advance payment of Rs 3,08,580 as commercial booking.
The Saloon Car was to be attached in Train No. 12926 Paschim Express on one way journey from New Delhi (NDLS) to Mumbai (BDTS) on 10.07.2026.
NR issued Notification of commercial run of the Saloon on 10.07.2026 subject to operational feasibility.
