Pune: In a bid to boost industrial growth and ensure a business-friendly environment, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Chandrakant Pulkundwar has urged companies to openly report any difficulties they face. Speaking at the Pune Industrial Investment Conference, he assured industries that the government is committed to providing a secure and supportive ecosystem.
The event saw participation from key industrial associations, MSMEs, major entrepreneurs, and banking representatives. District Collector Jitendra Dudi, Joint Director of Industries Shailesh Rajput, MCCIA Director General Prashant Girbane, Maharashtra Center for Entrepreneurship Development Executive Director Vikrant Bagade, and District Industries Center General Manager Archana Kothari were among the dignitaries present.
Dr. Pulkundwar highlighted the Maharashtra Industry, Trade, and Investment Facilitation (MAITRI 2.0) Portal, which streamlines approvals and services for businesses. The portal aims to simplify bureaucratic procedures and enhance ease of doing business.
District Collector Jitendra Dudi reaffirmed Pune’s leading position in the industrial sector and emphasized the importance of government-industry collaboration. He announced that a district-level committee is actively addressing industry concerns and will hold meetings every two months to expedite solutions related to land, electricity, water, and workforce availability.
MCCIA Director General Prashant Girbane provided insights into Pune’s export strength, stating that Pune is among the top five districts in the country for overall exports and holds the number one position in engineering exports.
Pune Agri Hackathon: A First-of-its-Kind Initiative
In a significant move, the administration will organize the ‘Pune Agri Hackathon’ next month, marking the first event of its kind in India. The hackathon will serve as a platform for startups, agricultural researchers, and major tech-driven companies to showcase innovations in the agricultural sector.
Additionally, 172 MoUs worth over ₹7,000 crore will be signed, bringing an estimated 50,000 direct and indirect jobs to the region, confirmed Joint Director of Industries Shailesh Rajput.
