Junnar Farmer Reaps 152 Tons of Sugarcane from 60 Gunthas with Organic Methods

Pune: Suresh Kurhade, a highly educated farmer and vice-principal at a local college in Ale, has set a remarkable example by harvesting 152 tons of sugarcane from his 60-guntha farm in Lavnawadi. By employing innovative agricultural practices and organic farming methods, Kurhade is set to earn a profit of ₹3.24 lakh.

Kurhade planted the 86032 sugarcane variety in June-July 2024 using the furrow planting technique, with rows spaced 4.5 feet apart. He ensured consistent irrigation and organic manure application. Additionally, biological pesticide spraying was carried out twice, in March and August, using drones to enhance crop growth.
