Khadki Police Solve ₹10 Lakh Daylight Robbery in Just Four Hours; Two Arrested

Pune: In a daring daylight robbery, an elderly man was targeted by thieves who snatched his bag containing ₹10 lakh in full public view at Khadki Bazaar. However, in a swift operation, Khadki police arrested both accused within just four hours and recovered the stolen amount.

The victim, Amir Yusuf Sayed (66), a resident of Shivanagari, Bijlinagar, Chinchwad, had traveled from Chakan to Pune to collect ₹10 lakh. Carrying the cash in a handbag, he was walking through Khadki Bazaar to deliver it when the robbery occurred.

At around 1:55 PM on Tuesday, as Sayed was passing in front of Shri Mahalaxmi Jewellers, two men on a two-wheeler approached him. In a sudden attack, they yanked the bag from his hand and sped away, leaving bystanders shocked. Realizing the gravity of the incident, Sayed immediately reported the crime to Khadki Police Station, where a case of armed robbery was registered.

High-Level Police Response and Investigation
Upon learning of the robbery, senior officials took swift action. Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police Himmat Jadhav, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Vitthal Dabade personally visited the crime scene along with Senior Police Inspector Dilip Phulpagare and Crime Inspector Sandipan Pawar.

The police quickly analyzed CCTV footage from nearby locations and gathered intelligence on possible suspects. Within just four hours, officers managed to identify, track, and arrest two accused individuals. Following the arrest, the police also recovered the entire ₹10 lakh in stolen cash, bringing relief to the victim. Police Inspector (Crime) Gajanan Chormale is currently leading further investigation into the case.
