Pune: A 15-year-old boy sustained serious head injuries after being assaulted by three juveniles in the Kondhwa area of Pune.
The attack was allegedly triggered by offensive remarks made by the victim about a girl related to the attackers. The Kondhwa Police have registered a case of attempted murder against the three minors.
The boy's father lodged a formal complaint, stating that the incident occurred on Wednesday morning near Akruti Society in Tilekar Nagar.
The victim was on his way to school when the accused juveniles intercepted him. Following verbal abuse, the situation escalated, and one of the juveniles struck the boy on the head with a stone. After the attack, the accused fled the scene.
The severely injured boy was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is receiving treatment for his injuries. Police Sub-Inspector Pooja Patil is leading the investigation into the matter.
Last week, during a school’s annual function in Hadapsar, a minor dispute resulted in a student slashing a classmate’s throat with glass, causing severe injuries. A year ago, a student in Bhavani Peth was attacked with a sharp weapon on school premises after an argument.
