Koregaon Bhima: Pune-Ahilyanagar Highway Traffic to be Rerouted for January 1 Homage Program

All types of traffic between Chakan and Shikrapur in both directions will be completely halted during this period.

Pune: Temporary traffic diversions will be in place on the Pune-Ahilyanagar Highway No. 60 for the annual Vijay Stambh homage program in Perne.

The Acting District Magistrate, Santosh Patil, has issued orders to regulate traffic from 5:00 PM on December 31, 2024, to midnight on January 1, 2025, to manage the influx of visitors and prevent congestion.

Complete Traffic Halt Between Chakan and Shikrapur

All types of traffic between Chakan and Shikrapur in both directions will be completely halted during this period. Alternate routes have been designated for heavy and light vehicles:

  • Heavy Vehicles from Ahilyanagar to Pune-Mumbai: Diverted via Shirur, Nhavara Phata, Nhavara, Pargaon, Chaufula, Yavat, and Hadapsar.

  • Heavy Vehicles from Pune to Ahilyanagar: Redirected through the Kharadi Bypass, Hadapsar, Pune-Solapur Highway, Chaufula, Kedgaon, Nhavara, and Shirur.

  • Heavy Vehicles from Solapur Highway to Alandi/Chakan: Diverted via Hadapsar, Magarpatta, Kharadi Bypass, and Vishrantwadi.

  • Heavy Vehicles from Mumbai to Ahilyanagar: Rerouted through Vadgaon Maval, Chakan, Khed, Manchar, Narayangaon, and Alephata.

  • Light Vehicles from Mumbai to Ahilyanagar: Redirected via Vadgaon Maval, Chakan, Khed, Pabal, and Shirur.

These measures aim to ensure smooth traffic flow and the safety of participants attending the event.

The Victory Pillar will be adorned with an oil painting of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the Preamble of the Indian Constitution, and a blue flag featuring the Ashoka Chakra and the slogan "Jai Bhim." This distinctive decoration highlights the values of equality and justice enshrined in the Constitution and honors the legacy of Dr. Ambedkar, its chief architect.
