Pune: In a major reform for CA aspirants, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced that the CA Final Exam will now be conducted three times a year instead of the existing two attempts. This landmark decision was taken during the institute’s 26th annual conference.
Until now, the CA Final Exam was held twice a year, but ICAI had already introduced three exam cycles for Intermediate and Foundation levels last year. Now, the Final Exam will follow the same pattern, offering three attempts annually in January, May, and September.
More Opportunities for CA Aspirants
This move expands opportunities for students aiming to clear the CA Final Exam, reducing wait times and allowing them to progress in their careers more efficiently. With this change, all three levels—Foundation, Intermediate, and Final—will have equal exam cycles, giving students greater flexibility in scheduling their attempts.
Changes in Post-Qualification Information Systems Audit Exam
Apart from the CA Final Exam, ICAI has also introduced changes to the Information Systems Audit (ISA) Post-Qualification Course. Previously conducted in June and December, this exam will now be held three times a year in February, June, and October.
ICAI President CA Charanjot Singh Nanda said, "This historic decision will benefit both students and ICAI members. Our goal is to create more opportunities for future Chartered Accountants, and this reform ensures that aspirants get multiple chances to succeed."
