
Pune: The Maharashtra government has announced plans to construct grand memorials for Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj at Sangameshwar, Tulapur, and Vadhu, ensuring that no existing temples are disturbed in the process.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar stated that these memorials will be historically significant and developed in consultation with local villagers, gram panchayats, and relevant stakeholders.
Pawar made this announcement while addressing the media after paying tribute at the memorial of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in Vadhu Budruk (Shirur taluka) on the occasion of his 336th death anniversary.
"Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, known for his unparalleled valor, never lost a battle in his nine-year reign. The state government is committed to honoring his legacy through well-planned and high-quality memorials at Tulapur and Vadhu," he said. He also emphasized that the government will allocate all necessary funds to ensure the successful completion of these projects.
Vadhu Budruk to be Developed as a Pilgrimage Site: Eknath Shinde
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has declared that Vadhu Budruk will be developed as a pilgrimage site for Hindus and the Maratha community, with assured financial support from the state government.
"Vadhu Budruk holds great significance as a spiritual and historical site. The Mahayuti government will ensure that no harm comes to the legacy of saints. We have assigned the direct responsibility of this development plan to the district collector to oversee its execution," Shinde stated during his visit to the site.
